In that light, we’re looking for a seasoned Head of Buying to join us on this adventure.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the founding member of Getir’s category management & purchasing team of the US, recruiting talented individuals.
  • Develop Getir’s product portfolio & buying strategy for the US. Go down the unconventional way if you believe that’s best for the business.
  • Act with the user in mind. First find ways to make the customers happy, then find a way to adapt that to the reality of the business.
  • Play the role of the balancer between customer demands and the requirements of the business.
  • Lead our categories ranging from fresh to ambient, hygiene to pet care, frozen to hygiene, indirect purchasing to fresh food. If it’s something we buy for users or ourselves, it all flows through your department.
  • Establish an overall product portfolio that goes beyond meeting customer expectations, resulting in unexpected customer delight.
  • Provide opportunity to up-and-coming suppliers with differentiating products that lead to new micro-experiences for our customers.
  • Undertake an incredible financial responsibility, acting as the ultimate decision-maker behind arguably the company’s biggest avenue of spending.
  • Allocate significant time to further recruitment and team building. The business will continue to grow, and so will we. Plus, it’s awesome working with awesome people.

What Getir Expects:

  • Significant experience working with multinational FMCG companies. We won’t put an arbitrary number on it but rather evaluate it candidate by candidate.
  • Negotiation skills that not only achieve the best-in-class product margins, but also inspire the rest of the team to continuously become better negotiators.
  • We have a strong preference for candidates with experience in fast paced retail environments.
  • Ability to learn fast and adapt your strategies and tactics to the dynamic world of super-fast delivery. Super-fast delivery means sometimes doing other things super-fast.
